Place Based
If I could pick up a piece of earth from each place that has struck a chord within me and pile them up.
This series of work is dedicated to deepening my sense of place. Each Sculpture is dedicated to one or multiple places that has created meaning in my life. Similar to looking through the layers of a geological strata and seeing the history of the earth. Each place becomes a layer of the sculpture, as they stack up and merge into one. The forms for each place are built through topographic maps. Using the elevation lines as blueprints to build up from and then layer together. This process allows for me to take a step back and reflect on my interactions with environments and their communities.
